Indian Culture a great respect to Nature and the Cows. The cow is considered to be a Kaamdhenu revered by Hindus as the mother of all cows. Kaamdhenu means the one who fulfils all the needs of human beings. the cows deliver five products and all of them are pure and uncontaminated. The five products received from the cow are milk, ghee, yogurt, cow dung and urine. Cow’s milk is considered the most miraculous food which helps in developing the finer tissues of the brain that helps in understanding the higher purposes of life. It helps one understand the intricacies of transcendental knowledge. Milk can be transformed into yogurt, curd, butter, ghee and by combining the milk and milk products with grains; hundreds of delicious dishes can be prepared. The ghee or clarified butter is used for preparing delicacies. A patient who is suffering from a disorder of the bowels due to overindulgence in milk products is cured by another milk product, namely curds. Even the urine and stool of cows have medicinal value. Cow dung contains all antiseptic properties and is considered a purifying agent. Cow dung can also be dried and used as fuel.

Goshalas are protective shelters for cows in India. Goshalas focus on treating cows well, because of their religious significance in Hinduism and consequent cultural sensitivity towards their welfare.

The cattle must be free from hunger and thirst and must be able to get fresh water and a proper diet to maintain strong and full health.

The cattle must be offered with the comfortable environment which also. includes resting and shelter area.

Freedom from injury, pain and diseases by providing instant diagnosis and treatment.

Freedom to express normal behavior by offering the right space, facilities and company of its own kind.
